About
The Indo-American Cultural and Religious Foundation of Arizona (IACRF) has been the home of Phoenix's Indian community since 1987. Founded by community leaders with one goal, keeping the community united, IACRF runs a 7-acre campus in west Phoenix with the Indo-American Community Center and Bharatiya Ekta Mandir.
Ekta Mandir means "Unity Temple": it is one of the few temples where Hindus and Jains worship together. Built in traditional Indian architecture with the support of more than 200 families, it has five shrines:
- Mahavir Swami, Bhagwan Adinath and Parshvanath
- Lord Shiva, Parvati and Ganesh
- Lord Krishna, Radha and Srinathji
- Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshman and Hanuman
- Lord Venkateshvara (Balaji), Bhudevi and Sridevi
Temple hours
Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM Weekends, major festivals and national holidays: 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Through the year IACRF brings the community together for the Grand Diwali Mela, nine nights of Navaratri with Garba and Raas, the Kite Festival, weekly yoga, and Hindi, Marathi, Sanskrit and Gujarati classes. Families can sponsor Maha Prasadam at the temple on Sunday evenings.
Beyond the temple, IACRF offers a place for seniors to socialize and stay healthy, youth programs in leadership, arts, languages, public speaking and college admission counseling, and community service: food drives, homeless feeding, back-to-school drives, medical and vaccine camps, and blood drives.
The Community & Reception Hall is open to members and non-members for weddings, anniversaries, galas, conferences and cultural events, with ample parking.
IACRF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, so donations are tax deductible. Life memberships start at $2,000.
